The brake master cylinder is responsible for generating hydraulic pressure that is transmitted to the braking system. When the brake pedal is pressed, the master cylinder piston moves, pushing brake fluid through the brake lines to the wheel cylinders or brake calipers, ultimately applying the brakes and slowing down or stopping the vehicle.The main body of the master cylinder houses the piston assembly and the fluid reservoir. It is usually made of metal, such as cast iron or aluminum.
